ServiceNow provides a full-featured IT Service Management (ITSM) platform with native discovery capabilities. Both Virima and Device42 offer comparable discovery and service mapping at lower costs and complexity. Virima differentiates through multi-source reconciliation, ViVID™ ITSM overlays, bi-directional ITSM integrations, and a Trusted Runtime Truth framework built for agentic IT operations — capabilities Device42 does not currently offer.
Virima built ViVID™ to turn service maps into a live operational view by overlaying ITSM records directly on dependency maps. This helps incident, change, and vulnerability management teams see impact in context. Device42 does not currently offer this because it does not currently offer bi-directional ITSM integration. ServiceNow does offer native service mapping, but it surfaces infrastructure relationships without overlaying live ITSM operational context — open incidents, pending changes, and vulnerability data — directly onto those maps. ViVID™ was purpose-built to provide that live operational overlay.
All three platforms use asset-based pricing. Unlike Device42 and ServiceNow, Virima’s pricing does not increase when you add service mapping or multi-source discovery. Service mapping and multi-source discovery are included.
