Client:  Large Casino Hotel on Las Vegas Strip

Virima Technologies is seeking a Sr. Technical Project Manager with experience in project managing data center transformations such as infrastructure upgrades, green field builds, moves and application migrations. Ideal candidate will be located in Las Vegas but weekly travel, including expenses, may be available based on location. Monday-Friday onsite work is required.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage Data Center Transformation (DCT) and other IT related projects
  • Create/Manage project roadmaps properly aligned with mandated timelines and initiatives
  • Organize and lead cross functional project teams of various size and scope
  • Continual updates on status, issues/resolution and next steps to DCT Program Director
  • Communicate difficult/sensitive information in a time sensitive manner
  • Track and aggressively manage project risks and issues
  • Assist in preparation and delivery of informative and well-organized presentations to DCT and business unit senior leadership, staff, and technical teams outlining progress and activities on projects
  • Assist in creation and management of client expectations
  • Apply significant knowledge of project management trends and developments to improve service to our clients
  • Communicate professionally and effectively at all levels
  • Arrange & schedule project status meetings, web conferences, and conference calls with clients, stakeholders, and key individuals as required
  • Work with technical teams including Solutions Architects, Subject Matter Experts, and Client technical personnel to track technical issues, status and issue resolution
  • Create alignment strategies for business units based on consultative efforts with the client’s PMO, technical team
    and leadership
  • Manage project lifecycle through completion of application migrations and associated activities

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 8 years of experience leading IT infrastructure projects
  • Experience in Data Center Design and Operations
  • Strong Technical Background including Servers, Storage, Networks, Virtualization, Application Support
  • Hospitality Systems Experience (Reservations, Hotel Operations, Cronos, Maximo) a plus
  • Minimum 5 years working as a project management consultant
  • Bachelors Degree preferred
  • PMP Certification preferred
  • Strong MS Project, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Visio, and MS PowerPoint skills required

  • The understanding and application of the PMBOK knowledge areas and key processes; apply knowledge of industry practices and trends
  • Experience in large, multi-vendor enterprise environments
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent consulting, written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Familiar with current IT development practices and available tools
  • Experience in Data Center infrastructure design and operations
  • Articulates technical issues in business terms
  • Ability to work independently, creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment
  • Desire to work in an information systems environment
  • Demonstrates experience developing and leading high performing teams
  • Ability to lead technical teams in a fast paced environment
